2007 SPRING BREAK MISSION TRIP

NOTE:
We will pack all luggage, bedding, and supplies on March 14, Friday evening, 6:00 P.M., in the church parking lot.
THE DAY BEFORE WE LEAVE!

WHAT TO BRING:  (You choose what you need the most.  You choose from the following list for YOUR comfort.  You bring what you want to carry.)

  • One Carry/bag and/or Luggage
  • Work pants and/or jeans (possibly 2-3 pair if it is wet/muddy)
  • Work shirts (one long sleeve)
  • Towels (2--things don't dry well)
  • Personal underclothing
  • Shorts (Not recommended for working on the roof)
  • Shoes (Work and fun)
  • Hat (wear as sun protector)
  • Work gloves
  • Spring Break T-shirt
  • Jacket or sweatshirt
  • Pajamas
  • Swimsuit and beach towel
  • Personal toiletries
  • Suntan lotion/Sunblock (30-45)
  • Bug spray and/or Benadryl spray (a MUST for the “no see-ums” - - - small bugs you don’t see until they bite you)
  • Flashlight/Clock or watch (Fans and A/C are in the dorm rooms.)
  • Camera
  • Sleeping bag or blankets, pillow (Bunk beds and sheets are available for everyone.)
  • Money (You bring whatever you are comfortable with spending for the week. You will need money for lunches on both Saturday departure and Friday return trips.  We could go to South Padre Island depending on time and weather.  Work is the first priority.)
  • Cell phone, if you desire
  • Bible and/or study material
  • Music and/or guitars

******All non-members of FCC, McKinney, are paying $150.00 per person to participate.******

We will be attending Sunday morning worship at Iglesia Ebenezar. Worship will start at 11:00 A.M.  We will wear jeans and our Spring Break T-shirts 2007. 

****A NEW MEDICAL RELEASE FORM/INSURANCE FORM must be signed by parents, notarized, and given to Penny Welch on or before Fri., March 9, unless already completed for 2007.  Copies must be made to take on the trip if a parent is NOT with the child for insurance purposes.  (Each year must have a new form.)*******

NOTE:

**Please put your name on all gloves, equipment, adaptors, and cameras in order to sort things at the end of the trip.  Disposable cameras, gloves, and hammers have been a problem in the past.

**We will pack all luggage, bedding, and supplies on March 9, Friday evening, 6:00 P.M., in the back church parking lot where the trailer will be loaded with equipment, bedding, and luggage.

**We will leave from the same church parking lot at 6:00 A.M., WITH WHEELS ROLLING, March 10, Saturday

**We will return on March 16, Friday.  We will call from the bus to let parents know that we are approaching the church.

REMINDER FOR TRAVEL COMFORT!!!

Do not drink too much before you leave on Saturday.  If you have a problem with certain foods, DON'T eat them on Friday evening.  We would like to keep the stops to a minimum.  To make it to Bayview in 11 hours, we can only stop for a 30 minute lunch and fuel break in San Antonio with short bathroom/comfort stops as we stop for fuel.  The bus and vehicle drivers will control the number of stops needed for fuel, etc., by cell phone communication; cell phone numbers should be exchanged before leaving.
