The Troops Mission & purpose:

The mission of Troop 909 is to help develop boys into future leaders and responsible citizens with good character, high moral values, with good physical and mental fitness, by providing a boy led Troop utilizing the Scout Patrol method. We will accomplish this mission under the guidelines established by the National Office of Boy Scouts of America, the Circle Ten Council and the Lone Star District.

Registration in the Boy Scouts can be done anytime. Joining the Troop requires a boy to be eleven years old, or completed the fifth grade, or earn the Arrow of Light (highest rank in Cub Scouts), and be less than eighteen years old. WEBELOS Scouts who have earned the Arrow of Light normally register in the spring.

The Troop’s outdoor program emphasis is backpacking and backcountry camping.
