Women’s Ministry
|
Purpose: “...to provide opportunities for spiritual growth,
enrichment, education, and creative ministries that enable women to
develop a sense of personal responsibility for the whole mission of the
church of Jesus Christ”
To accomplish our purpose, Women’s Ministry is divided into four
sections: Spiritual Enrichment, Special Interest, Special Events, and
Service.
As women of faith and spirit, these spiritual enrichment ministries
are available:
• Fall Retreat
A weekend in November is dedicated to nourishment of the spirit & soul.
We have been to Tanglewood Resort & Prothro Retreat Center on Lake
Texoma. November 6-7th, 2009 we will be at Briarwood, just west of
Denton. Fantastic speakers have shared topics with us such as Praying
With Women of the Bible, Living Water; the Woman at the Well, & Sabbath
Time.
• Bible Study
Combine 12-15 women, the Bible and a great book (When the Heart Waits,
UnVeiling Mary Magdalene, Celebrating Friendship, Bad Girls of the
Bible, Discovering God’s Will For Your Life, Ruth, Cultivating
Contentment, Managing Your Moods, and Jonah; Overcoming Mistakes) and
you’ve got the ingredients for meaningful and lively conversations!
Thursdays, 11am-noon. Childcare is provided. Cost is $10-15, depending
on the book.
• Christian Women’s Fellowship
New Day is the study guide for this group that meets on the first
Wednesday of the month at 11am in our Discipleship Center. In addition
to the study, the group enjoys a potluck lunch.
