Welcome:

I'm Neill Grimes, Senior Minister at FCC.  Ordained to Christian ministry in 1980, I'm just beginning my third decade of work.  North Carolinians by birth, my wife Virginia and I have served three previous pastorates in North Carolina, Tennessee and Oklahoma.  For some reason we can't fathom, God keeps moving us west.  Our daughter, Jane, is attending Texas Christian University and our son, Ben, is in high school.  We're delighted to be in McKinney and the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

Although I'm charged to oversee the life and ministry of First Christian, I do have some special interest.  Spiritual formation and faith development are vitally important; a church can not reach beyond the maturity of its members and so I have a deep interest in helping people grow and change.  Discipleship is a life-long journey wherein God shapes us into new people.  One of the tools I hope to use in McKinney is a cell-group ministry.  In a former pastorate, I initiated such a ministry and know first hand the gifts and resources it can provide both individual disciples as well as the church.  Finally, one spiritual discipline that should not be ignored is worship; worship is the heart of the church and it is an area of church life that I find both important and exciting.
