Paul Appleby

Paul earned his BA in Biblical Studies and Theology from Malone University, a Quaker school in Northeast Ohio. He earned a Master of Divinity (MDiv) from the Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta, where he was nominated for an award for his preaching on social justice issues. He later went on to earn a second MDiv in theology where his thesis focused on the intersection between God and culture.

He and his wife Sage like to relax at home with their dog Jake, and their two cats, and enjoy hiking and camping.

Kayla Coffee-Prose

Kayla Coffee-Prose is currently serving as interim associate minister at First Christian Church in McKinney, as well as pastor at Journey Dallas. She’s previously served on the ministry staff at First Christian Church in Tyler, Faith Lutheran in Eaton CO, and Casa View Christian Church in Dallas. She’s been an ordained minister with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) for over nine years.

Kayla holds an MDiv from Brite Divinity School and a BA in French from the University of Texas. Her favorite philosopher is Albert Camus, her favorite theologian is Rita Nakashima Brock, and her favorite poet is Mary Oliver.

Kayla is married to Fester Coffee-Prose, also a pastor. They have a daughter, aged 6, who has declared herself an actor. Kayla loves to read, spend time with her family, walk her dog, drink coffee, and any other activity that equals quiet and calm.
