MIKE'S KIDS 2005 (Nov. 5 - Dec. 14)

Mike's Kid’s is an annual program that is supported by the North Texas Area of Disciples Christian Churches, the Christian Men's Fellowship, and the Southwest Good Samaritans Ministries.  This program supports children who have been abandoned or forced out of their homeland to a new country. As Christmas season fast approaches it is time to begin filling banana boxes with clothing (appropriate for South Texas) and child sized underwear (new), toys (new or gently used), food, etc. for Mike's Kids in Los Fresnos, Texas area.

Many local church groups, youth, and others have supported Rev. Feliberto Pereira in this mission to help the poorest of poor. Last year, a total of 1,285 banana boxes, full of new or gently used clothes and toys were delivered to the Valley.

These filled banana boxes brought smiles to many displaced children and families in need. Please consider making Mike's Kids something your church will share in this year.

Final pick up of all donations is scheduled for Monday, December 12, 2005. See below for designated collection points.

If any church or group needs assistance in picking up or delivery boxes to these locations, please contact Mark Slaight or Christina Slaight Gill at 972-234-5796 or 972-889-8339.  We try to get as many empty banana boxes as we can from grocery stores but we always need more.  We ask church members to assist in going to the produce section of their local grocery store and ask for banana boxes.
