This is the annual fundraiser event and one not to miss whether you are new to McKinney or were born and raised here--its a day that draws the whole community together. We provide a Thanksgiving Dinner luncheon along with bake sale and silent auction items.
Past auction items have featured donations from Rick's Chophouse, the Texas Rangers, Dallas Symphony Orchestra and many other businesses in McKinney and across the DFW Metroplex.
Bazaar is held the first Thursday of November.
Funds raised go to supporting our community partners in McKinney, mission work locally and abroad and college scholarships for McKinney students.
It’s never too early to start planning the November
Bazaar. Therefore, we are looking for people interested in volunteering in the following areas:
Kitchen: Volunteers to help in the preparing and distributing food donations (cards), Tuesday purchases for non-donated goods and items, Wednesday food prep and Thursday serving and clean up and delivery.
Pie Room: Volunteers to help set up on Wednesday, pick up pies, labels for pie boxes, serving and clean up on Thursday.
Dining Room: Volunteers to help set up on Wednesday and hosts for Thursday, procuring plates and table decorations, clean up.
Silent Auction: Volunteers to help in the soliciting and collecting of silent auction donations, set up on Wednesday, prepare bid sheets, present on Thursday and follow up with auction item bid winners.
Caller(s): Volunteers to help in making calls to secure donations for pies, turkeys and/or cooks.
Decorating: Volunteers to help in putting up fall decorations the first week in October and help in removal by Monday, November 10, 2018.
Let Lori Wilson know if you have a special area for which you would like to volunteer or email Shirley and she’ll be sure to pass the info on.
Crafters Wanted: We’re looking for Individuals who would be interested in making craft projects to sale at the bazaar. Call the church office and let Penny or Kayla know if you are interested or send Shirley Armstrong an email. If there is enough interest, we’ll work together at the church or a home to make some exciting projects. We need lots of ideas and different talents.
Quilters: There has been some interest expressed in starting a quilting club at the church. If this is something you are interested in, please let the church office or Shirley Armstrong know.
Other Special Interests?? Just let us know and we’ll see what we can do.
