FAMILY PROMISE OF COLLIN COUNTY familypromiseofcollincounty.org

First Christian McKinney continues to be a host church for Family Promise, providing shelter, food, and hospitality for homeless families with children. The Family Promise Network is a national nonprofit with over 200 affiliates, and offers support services as families regain stability and independence. This ministry began in Collin County in 2011 to help families transition out of homelessness to financial independence and sustainability. First Christian Church has been a part of this ministry from the beginning. We act as a host congregation, providing overnight accommodations, showers, and meals to families in the program 4 weeks out of the year. Over the past 3 years we have provided 672 meals and 224 overnight bed accommodations. To learn more about this ministry, make a financial contribution or to sign up to cook meals, become an overnight host, or fill one of the other volunteer positions, please contact the church office.

Since 2011, our church has participated in McKinney Independent School District Adopt a School program, which includes mentoring/tutoring students at the nearby Faubion Middle School, our adopted school, and in some cases, following them on to high school.
