Children’s Ministry

• Childcare is offered for infants and toddlers on Sunday mornings and older children on weeknights while parents are participating in other ministries. (link to child care brochure)

• Sunday School classes, for potty trained preschool thru 5th grade children, are held in the Discipleship Center. Our desire is to build a solid spiritual foundation, which begins with Bible knowledge. All of our Children’s classes study and learn stories from both the Old and New Testaments in fun and inventive ways

• Junior Youth Fellowship meets on Wed evenings during our Spring and Fall Block. JYF, for 3rd-5th grade children, is a ministry that helps children apply Bible teachings to their lives.

• Summer Church Camps:
Discovery Camp is designed for the first time camper in 2nd or 3rd grade. It is held over Memorial Day weekend. An adult must attend this camp with the young camper. At Discovery Camp, everyone gets a taste of what JYF camp is all about!
JYF Camp is for 4th and 5th graders. Outdoor activities such as boating, hiking, fishing, swimming plus worship, small group experiences, & learning labs make this an ideal way to learn about our faith and call to discipleship.

• Vacation Bible School:
We have been to Space, the North Pole, Jerusalem, & the Jungle. We have been on a Bug Safari, gone Scuba Diving, & experienced a Fiesta. Potty-trained 3 year olds through children who have completed 5th grade won’t want to miss a day of VBS, which is held in June. June 15th—19th, 2009 promises a burning bush…an assault of plagues…Jesus’ resurrection…the Bible comes to life with games, songs, crafts, skits…an entire week of uplifting and exciting activities.
• Bible stories come alive in Children’s Worship, which follows the Children’s Moment during the 10:45 worship service. Children’s Worship is held in the Discipleship Center & is for potty trained 3 year olds—1st grade.

• Crossing Point Christian Preschool
The school operates as a week day paid tuition program. Our purpose is to nurture the development of the whole child—physical, emotional, social, cognitive & spiritual. Classes are offered for children ages 2 years through Kindergarten to meet the needs of both First Christian Church members and the community at large.
